Audio Meditation Sleep
Sometimes sleep plays hide-and-seek, whether we're trying to fall asleep or get back to sleep. It doesn't matter how tired our body and mind may be, sleep just cannot be found. Often when sleep evades us, it is because our minds are still busy, engaged in some internal dialogue that won't switch off, planning ahead, going over the events of the day, and the chatter keeps sleep away. Other times, physical discomfort may be the cause of sleeplessness. As we lie awake, waiting for sleep to come, tiredness and frustration can lead to more thinking and chatter, creating a cycle of sleeplessness. Better than counting sheep, Sleep is a meditation for bedtime to help quieten the mind and relax and soothe the body, allowing you to drift into a tranquil space and open the door to a deep and peaceful sleep. If sleep is playing hide-and-seek with you, listen to Sleep in the comfort of your bed, or wherever you plan to fall asleep, and, if you start to feel sleepy at any point during the meditation, allow yourself to fall asleep. You don't need to stay awake through any part of the meditation.
